To an anonymous Romeo from Boston, the romantic evening he had planned did not go as expected.
The tens of thousands of spectators who packed the legendary Fenway Park stadium on Sunday to witness a game between the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs witnessed a drama that has nothing to do with baseball.
On the giant screen of the stadium they could see how a man seemed to propose to a surprised woman, something that already seems routine in this type of sports spectacle. Only this time the scene did not end in the usual way, with a yes, kisses and hugs.
To the amazement of those present, what followed the request was what seemed like a no, because the stadium screen immediately cut the transmission of the scene and followed with something else, as if nothing had happened.
Of course, the unusual disappointment that the poor suitor took did not go unnoticed by those who witnessed the scene and went to the networks to tell what happened to the couple after the cameras stopped focusing on her.
“This man asked for his hand before the cameras at Fenway. She said no. Now they are arguing,”said a Twitter user who posted images of the tense incident.
Fox sportscaster Ty Anderson said the pair appeared to be arguing before the man even launched into the request. "They were fighting even before the question appeared on the screen," he said of the couple, whose identity is currently unknown.
If so, perhaps the incident can be titled as the story of an unannounced.
Will there be reconciliation? It will be necessary to be attentive to the screen.
