A mother in Colorado is accused of murdering her daughter after pretending that the girl was terminally ill. Kelly Renee Turner, 41, misled people, saying her daughter Olivia Gant, 7, needed donations to cover expensive medical expenses. She also asked for money to make the dreams of the "sick girl" come true before she died. However, the little girl was in perfect health and her mother lied in the Denver news about her "serious illness" to raise money.
The woman reportedly raised more than asked to help another daughter who was allegedly ill. The woman claimed that this other daughter was a cancer survivor who suffered from "bone pain." The authorities removed the minor, who according to official documents, is in perfect health.
The mother was arrested Friday and is in police custody in Denver, without bond. The woman faces charges of first-degree murder, child abuse, robbery and fraud against charitable entities.
