A baby from Punjab, India, has left her parents and the doctors caring for her surprised by her drastic weight gain. At just eight months old, the girl no longer has the appearance or weight of a baby, but a four-year-old girl.
According to her parents, when Chahat Kumar was four months old, she began to gain weight disproportionately, to the point that today she weighs almost 38 pounds.
Due to her weight, the girl is developing various health problems including difficulty breathing and trouble sleeping at night.
As if that were not enough, the fat accumulated in his body has made it difficult to draw blood for an analysis, according to the local doctor. Until now the cause of his alarming weight gain remains a mystery to doctors.
The girl's parents are very concerned that her appetite is insatiable. On top of that, her family is very poor and has had difficulty buying enough food to satisfy the baby's hunger.
Her parents want to travel to a bigger city for a specialist to see their daughter and help her reach a normal weight that allows her to enjoy life like other babies her age.
This is not the first case of a child with morbid obesity. Just in India a couple of years ago, a similar case was recorded. In that case in the city of Jharkhand, India, baby Aliya Saleem came to weigh 40 pounds at 10 months old.
