Carlos Bonavides announced that the United States authorities canceled his tourist visa for him and his friend, Maribel "La pelangocha" Fernández.
According to an interview that the actor granted to journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva, he and his partner were traveling to Houston to participate in a private party as guests only. The problem, according to Benavides, was that someone made an advertisement as if they were going to a public event, and that caused the conflict with the American authorities.
"We explained that we had the phones, the people who were waiting for us would justify that we were not going to get paid, but [that] we were invited as guests to participate as friends," the actor explained. "They did not accept that."
The result: The United States government canceled their visas and punished them for five years. "They carve you out as a true criminal," he said. “They take off your shoes, socks and let's go back. Fortunately we were lucky that they returned to us that same day.”
