Problems continue for Dreamers in America. A 22-year-old young woman in the DACA program was arrested Wednesday after offering a press conference in Jackson Mississippi.
Agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended Daniela Vargas, when she was in a car with a friend, shortly after denouncing at a press conference the arrest of her father and brother in an operation of the mentioned department.
According to reports from Univisión, Vargas, who had arrived in the United States at age 7 and was born in Argentina, was in the DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) but her residence permit had expired and was awaiting renewal..
"We went out to go to lunch and suddenly two cars approached us," Jordan Sanders, Vargas' friend who was in the car with the girl, told the chain. “(The agents) went out, opened the door and basically said 'You know who we are and you know why we are here' and handcuffed her. She was speechless."
