Lola, a 5-year-old girl from Washington state, has become a social media sensation for bringing to life some of the most iconic African American women in history.

Cristi Smith-Jones, the mother of the girl, decided to celebrate Black History Month in a very original way, after Lola showed great interest in the life of Martin Luther King Jr.

Every February, the proud mother shared on her Twitter account a photograph of her little daughter characterizing leaders of the African-American community.

Rosa Parks, Mae Jemison, Shirley Chisholm, Misty Copeland, Zora Neale Hurston and Coretta Scott King have been some of the women Lola has brought to life in the past few days with the complicity of her mom.

"We wanted to find a fun way to teach him about black history," Smith-Jones shared with CNN. "She seems to understand where we come from," he added.
