Border patrol agents in Pharr, Texas were shocked when they inspected a shipment of lemons and found almost two tons of marijuana hidden among the fruit.
A total of 3,947 pounds of packaged grass was disguised in the cargo traveling in a truck from Mexico.
According to CNN, the authorities managed to discover the unusual shipment through a sophisticated image inspection system and a team of narcotic detection dogs. In total 36,000 packages of the herb were seized.
"This is a spectacular interception of narcotics, " he said through a statement the head of the border post, Efrain Solis Jr. "Our officials [customs] continue outperforming their knowledge of smuggling techniques, allowing intercept these attempts to introduce narcotics in the country."
