A drunk lawyer who insulted a woman and her four-year-old son while riding in the same car on a London train has pleaded guilty to the charge against him: a highly offensive public offense.

The incident happened in late December when Alexander MacKinnon was traveling in the first-class compartment of a train from London to Glasgow and was apparently annoyed by the noise that little Zayn was making, so he yelled at him to shut up. His mother Sanaa Shahid intervened telling him not to yell at his son, according to The Sun newspaper.

MacKinnon asked the woman what she was doing in the first-class carriage, that she must be in the cheapest class, and that, in fact, she "didn't deserve to be" in first class. Damn foreigners, he said. "Where were you born?".

Shahid, who is a lawyer and was born in Glasgow, Scotland, immediately called the transport police while the enraged man telephoned a friend to tell him his version of what happened. "This stupid cow doesn't deserve to be in this country," said the irate passenger on the phone.

Part of their conversation was recorded in this video (below) that Shahid captured with his mobile phone.

MacKinnon apparently did not know that Shahid was recording it on his cell phone. During their conversation, he commented to his interlocutor that when the police arrived it would be his word against hers. At that moment one of the train guards arrived, who told him that it was not true since he had heard everything.

The guard also told him he was a "racist drunk" and ordered him to get off the train.

Before leaving, the man addressed the boy's mother once more saying, “You are so wonderful, wasting time on the police, miss. And your damn son”.

The latter replied that it was "a disgrace to humanity". And added: "Just get off [the train]."

According to the BBC news network, MacKinnon was fined a station equivalent to Shahid.

Below, we leave you a list of documentaries that address the issue of racism that has made so many headlines recently.
