An aspiring actor committed suicide Monday morning in North Hollywood, California, after being arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse.
Jay Bowdy, 33, an actor originally from Texas, used Facebook's live broadcast system to announce to his followers that he would commit suicide. Realizing what was happening, one of his relatives called the Los Angeles Police Department to alert authorities, Sgt. Tiffany Ljubetic told the Los Angeles Times.
The coroner's office is expected to issue its report on the cause of death this week, but Los Angeles Police Lt. Larry Dietz confirmed that the death appeared to be suicide.
The video was removed from Facebook, while many of the users wondered if it was an acting feat or a joke by Bowdy.
