Actor And Reality Star Commits Suicide

Once again the tragedy dresses Hollywood in mourning, in this case due to the news of the apparent suicide of Clay Adler, a young man who had appeared in the MTV series Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County.

The BBC reported that on March 25, Adler, who was barely 27 years old, traveled with friends to the desert in southern California where they set out to shoot firearms when he suddenly turned his gun around to give himself a head shot. The actor was taken to the nearest hospital where he died the following day.

His father, Frank Adler, was in charge of confirming the sad news to the media. According to him, no trace of drugs or alcohol was found in his son's body, who "had been clean [sober] for several years." Likewise, Adler added that he did not believe that his son had been fighting depression because "there was no evidence."

In the midst of this tragedy for the family and those closest to him, the young man's parents drew strength from the pain and chose to donate their son's organs, something that, according to Adler, father, has already saved "four to five lives."

In addition to having been in two seasons of the Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County series, the young actor had also been a part of the Make it Or Break It series and the television movie The Fish Tank.

Adler joins a sad list below of celebrities who have committed suicide.
