One of the most beautiful and at the same time most difficult photographs that Lindsey Brown, an Ohio photographer, has taken in her life was that of two beautiful twins, William and Reagan Brentlinger, since she knew that the first one had its hours numbered.

When their parents Lyndsay and Matthew waited for the arrival of their little children, the doctors informed them that William had a heart problem, so perhaps he would die inside the womb or at birth. The baby beat the odds and was born alive.

Mandy Edwards, a family friend, knew that she had little time to leave a beautiful memory of the two little brothers together, so last month she hired a photographer to portray them and have an everlasting memory. Although she was warned shortly after hearing the moving story, Brown attended this very special session: one of her photographed, although she had just been born, was dying.

"I couldn't believe how perfect they looked," Brown told CNN. "They were both in the five-pound range when I photographed them." The photos have been shared by many people on Facebook, as we can see here.

"William was extremely alert, as if trying to assimilate everything, while little Reagan slept and opened her eyes a little."

"It was very bittersweet the whole time I was there," he said. "They acted and looked perfect, literally you would NEVER have known something was wrong with Will."

Shortly after their photo shoot, William passed away. He had just turned 11 days old.
