Diane Coleman, a resident of Jackson, the Mississippi capital, was arrested for allegedly murdering her invalid father by pouring boiling water on her.
According to city police, the 55-year-old woman threw water at the 81-year-old Earl Coleman on September 3, causing "serious burns" in various parts of the body that forced him to be admitted to a hospital, where he died nine days later.
The authorities indicated that the reasons for the terrible aggression are unknown at the moment, but it is known that the daughter was in charge of taking care of the father, who could not stand on his own, suffered multiple illnesses and was confined to a wheelchair.
When the events occurred, police went to the Colemans' home in response to an alert that a domestic altercation was taking place. After helping the wounded man, Diane Coleman was taken to the police station and arrested. She was subsequently charged with the domestic violence-aggravated assault charge.
Once the old man passed away, the police opened a murder investigation that culminated in a second arrest of the woman on December 6, this time on a murder charge.
