Alejandra Espinoza and Aníbal Marrero enjoy the Christmas season very much, although in 2015 it almost ended in tragedy.
The house was decorated, the tree mounted, and Matteo was enjoying his first date with Christmas. Alejandra was not expecting what happened next.
"The year Matteo was born was obviously his first Christmas, we made the tree very small," Espinoza began relating to People en Espanol during his photo shoot for the cover of the magazine's December issue.
"I like big trees and I like that they are leafy … that it is a natural tree, very nice … But in this case, Matteo was like crawling, he was supercurious … I said to Aníbal: 'Let's make it small'. And thank God we made him little, because it was the time that Matteo was in the walker all the time, "recalled Espinoza, who assured that with Matteo it is like being the mother of" a million children."
The scare came when Espinosa and her husband heard a scream. "And it is that Matteo had gotten with the walker under the tree and brought the tree on top," she added.
The next thing was to check that her baby had not suffered any damage. "She just screamed because she was scared and then she was happy wanting to do it again, then she would go back and she would gain momentum … We had to remove the tree," said the ex-queen of Nuestra Belleza Latina.
"There, wherever he saw a tree, he would pull it so that it would fall on him," Marrero recalled.
"I do not know what will happen this year," Espinoza concluded.
