The coronavirus crisis is affecting, in addition to the health and pockets of millions, entire families who, because of quarantine, canceled trips and other problems, have been separated. Myrka Dellanos and her daughter Alexa are no exception to this separation, which especially hurts due to the unbreakable bond that unites the Cuban-American presenter with her only daughter.

In March, Dellanos covered Adamari López, Rachel Díaz and Chiquibaby when they had to be out of Un nuevo día (Telemundo) due to a scare that gave them the coronavirus. Her work on the channel aroused the dismay of her daughter who claimed through networks that her mother was "risking her life to report the news."

"She is always the most affectionate with me. She is a special girl, honestly. My soul girl," explains Dellanos, who lives in Miamia, to People en Español. "She is not here, she is in Puerto Rico so we are not together and obviously we are constantly communicating and she felt anxiety."

"I live with my mother who is a senior citizen. I have to take care of her, take off my shoes when I get home, take a bath, immediately do the laundry. She is a person who is often nervous, worried and worried for me but above all she is worried about my mother. About her grandmother. She tells me: 'Be very careful with my grandmother' ".

"[Alexa] is a super sociable person, her work in the networks and she is used to talking to her followers about how she feels … if she feels sad," says Dellanos. "Her emotions touch her very strongly."

Alexa has supported, in her own way, social distancing:

In Puerto Rico, Alexa has found in this nice four-legged friend a good quarantine companion:

Myrka has used this time to share memories and thoughts with her fans:

"I am a person who lives with a lot of peace, with a lot of tranquility and I believe that it is because I have lived many things in life. That is given by age, given by time and also by my great faith. I believe that God he is in control all the time, "explains the journalist, who was one of the great loves of singer Luis Miguel.

"I really am very calm that she is very safe, healthy and that everything will be fine. My mother is not worried either," she says to reveal how she has been able to cope with these moments away from her daughter. Still, the distance is real. "It is difficult, I would like to have her living with me by my side like when she was little. I always miss her. But I saw her a few weeks ago and we communicate constantly. Thanks to the networks."

And for those moms around the world who are experiencing similar circumstances, Dellanos has these words: "[Sometimes] you feel as a mother that if your children are with you nothing bad can happen to them, but it really isn't true. That's one thing we imagine But really the bad things on the road happen and can come at any time and [with the coronavirus pandemic] we realize with this that we really have no control over anything."
