Actress Vanessa Hudgens downplayed the seriousness of the coronavirus in a video posted on her social networks and is now being criticized and branded as insensitive to this health crisis that is currently plaguing the world.

On Tuesday afternoon, the former Disney star called it "scary" to have to stay home due to the spread of this contagious disease.

"It is a virus, I understand it, I respect it, but at the same time if everyone is infected, people are going to die, which is terrible, but inevitable?" He said through his stories on Instagram.

Moments later - and after criticism from his followers that indicated the insensitivity of the actress - Hudgen resumed his networks to explain that his comments were being taken out of context.

"It's a crazy, crazy, crazy moment and I'm home locked up and I hope that's what you guys are doing too," said the 31-year-old actress. "I don't take this situation lightly, by no means am I at home."

Apparently, the explanation was not enough for the fans who continued to rant against the actress, so she saw the need to issue a public apology on her Twitter account.

"I realized that my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation in which our country and the world are at the moment," he wrote. “This has been a great awakening to the meaning that my words have now more than ever. I send good wishes to all of you and stay safe and healthy in this crazy moment.”

The apology was received with disappointment by some of his followers, who have made their feelings known through his comments on networks. So far, according to the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, there are more than 7,000 cases of coronavirus patients in the United States. Several cities in the country are under curfew to prevent the spread of the virus.
