Pitbull knows how to accept when he is wrong and the singer apologized after the controversy generated by the words he addressed to Gente de Zona during his year-end presentation, words that caused outrage in the Cuban community in Miami.

The Cuban-American singer sent a greeting to the duo who were excluded from the concert in the legendary Bayfront Park for their alleged closeness to the Cuban government and their support for ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel during a presentation in Havana in 2018.

“They are not here tonight for other things, but I want to send a greeting to Gente de Zona. Music is music, politics is politics,”Pitbull said at the end of the year.

That statement caused discontent among those attending the concert and some of the artists present repudiated their greeting on social networks. Now Pitbull admits his mistake and apologizes for his words.

In an interview with the journalist Jorge Ramos, to be broadcast this Sunday through the program Al punto (Univision), the artist expressed that he understands his community - but admitted that he feels hurt by the reaction, since he reiterates that he is a Avid promoter of Miami and defender of its culture.

Pitbull admitted that he was unaware of the duo's political inclination, so he apologized to the legendary Willy Chirino and Arturo Sandoval, who disagreed with the participation of Gente de Zona in the concert to dismiss 2019.

"Excuse Miami for loving you so much. Miami apologizes for trying to unite everyone not knowing what the situation is really like.
