Thus, they had a first date in an expensive restaurant and the comedian could barely pay the bill; which made him reflect that he could not have a romantic relationship with the actress because he did not have sufficient financial resources because he had become independent and was just beginning his professional career.

"That's where I said 'this woman is out of my reach' and I stopped seeing your mom for almost a year," he explained. “Then she claimed me, like a year later; I was starting to do well there [financially] and then we resumed the relationship.”

Eugenio Derbez was terrified when his son played a joke on him that he would make a live video call with Victoria Ruffo; in the end, he regained his calm knowing that it was a lie.
