Shakira And Jennifer López Will Pay Tribute To Kobe In The Super Bowl

During a press conference today in Miami, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez commented on part of the plans they are preparing and that they will carry out during their super bowl halftime show, officially called Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show.

The tragedy that touched the world last Sunday was also present in the conversation. When asked by someone during the press conference if Kobe Bryant would be remembered during the event, the basketball idol who died a few days ago with his daughter and seven others in a terrible helicopter accident in Los Angeles, Jennifer López said that something special will be done thinking about him.

Shakira added that “ we are all going to be thinking about Kobe on Sunday and celebrate life and diversity in this country. I am sure he would be very proud to see the message that we will be trying to convey from the stage.”

The Colombian also assured that they felt a very strong sense of empowerment to think that two Latinas were doing this, in this country and right now.

“If someone had told me, when I was a girl in Barranquilla, that I was going to be performing in the Super Bowl, one of the most important events in the world, I would not have believed it. But here we are. It is a reality and a clear example that everything is possible, that you have to dream big, fight for our goals and ideals. I am very grateful for the opportunity to demonstrate what we Latinos are made of, the contribution we make to this country and to the world.”
