Last weekend our hearts broke into a thousand pieces upon hearing the news of Kobe Bryant's death in dire circumstances. His helicopter collapsed, killing the Lakers player along with his daughter Gianna and seven others.
The fateful outcome was reported soon after by the TMZ media, sooner than expected. The website fulfilled its task of reporting, but an official in charge of complying with the law and collecting all the data from the accident, has expressed disappointment that this happened before due time.
Tim Murakami wrote this statement regretting that some of the athlete's loved ones had to find out in this way instead of an official call.
“It saddens me that while gathering the data the media reported that Kobe had passed away. I understand the priority of having the scoop but please take the time to personally notify your loved ones. It is very cold that they have to find out about this loss through the media. It breaks my heart,”wrote the desolate official.
The investigation is ongoing and forensic experts have already identified three of the victims, including Kobe Bryant, by their fingerprints. It is hoped that the same can be done soon with the rest of the helicopter's occupants.
Meanwhile, followers of the Balocentista continue to pay tributes and dedications everywhere to demonstrate love and respect for the sports star who has left us too soon.
