This week a video was released that showed the most human side of Pope Francis. His gesture scolding a follower for not releasing her hand showed that he also loses patience like the rest of the mortals.
This reaction has been normalized by many but highly criticized by others. So much so that a video of the Pontiff has been recalled that went viral at the beginning of the year when he reacted in a somewhat questionable way for many during a palm kiss.
Although smiling and friendly as always, his gesture of withdrawing his hand so abruptly grabbed the headlines of all the international newspapers.
Opinion was divided again this time. While his defenders consider this way of acting a rejection of the plea or submission to his person, there is the opposite side that sees it as contempt.
What Pope Francis always does is show his face with his parishioners, so he did not hesitate to ask for an apology from a window of the apostolic palace of Saint Peter of the Vatican for the gesture of these days with a fan. He humbly assumed that he too loses patience and humbly asked for forgiveness "for the bad example given yesterday."
