2019 has not exactly ended on the right foot for Fabiola Campomanes. The actress was involved in a scandal in her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Jonathan Islas, who accused her of having punched him in the mouth. She came out in self-defense in a video on social networks and from there her life has taken a turn.
In a sincere interview with the program Con Permiso, Fabiola has opened up on the channel and has told in detail that she has been a victim of abuse, especially psychological abuse, which she claims can be much worse than physical abuse.
"We are children of a patriarchy with machismo who live where we have normalized many violent behaviors and the fact that a woman is not beaten does not mean that there has been no violence," he explained.
For the artist, the most difficult thing of all has been to recognize that she has been the victim of that violence, which on many occasions, for love, for culture or for not knowing, one refuses to see even if it exists.
"Violence does not happen overnight, violence has its foci and many times you do not see them or do not want to see them when you are in love, you are in a middle state of addicts and you justify," she continues seriously.
In the midst of this process of understanding and healing, he has also accepted that he does not want to put all the responsibility on the other because in reality we are all a little bit responsible. "I do not want to blame him or me, in a relationship things are progressing on the part of both, I am not one of those people who puts the finger or judges," reflects the actress.
But he also does not deny that what Jonathan did did not seem the correct way to approach everything that happened. "Yes, I think he wanted to go out and wanted to do all this, I don't understand it but I am no longer interested in understanding why he did it, someone who does such a thing is to affect your career, your life, your image, it's his business", he says closing this chapter.
Recovering her strength, self-esteem and being able to help other women with her testimony is now her greatest goal. And to do so, she asks us to get away from the feeling of shame that prevents us from taking this step. "Shame can end a human being," he concludes.
