"Prince William wants little George to treat his sister Charlotte equally and without distinction when playing soccer in the garden," says a young activist who promotes gender equality in that sport during a visit to the palace. Kensington during the Diana Award charity awards ceremony.
Fourteen-year-old Olivia Hancock says William told her that Prince George tries to get his sister to always be in goal because he plays better. According to his dad, he always says, "Charlotte can play as well as you do if you give her the chance."
The young woman was very happy to understand that the prince is already doing something for equality without leaving home. "She is already doing something for equality in this sport."
The young woman affirms that the prince was really charming: “He has his feet on the ground and he took all the necessary time with each one of the attendees at the reception to ask us what we were doing and that we could tell him our story. She listened to us all and was really interested. She also said that her mom would be very proud of all of us."
Olivia received an award from the Diana Award charity for her love of soccer and the fight against machismo in that sport. "I want women to be treated in the game as equals."
The nicest moment was when William told Olivia that "it would be nice if we did a haggling contest in front of the ball," to which she replied: "Now I can't because I'm wearing heels." "Then you have to come and teach my children to play someday …" he said.
"Princess Diana was a great inspiration to everyone," said Oliva, recalling the sadly deceased Princess of Wales.
