Chef James Tahhan and his wife Russel Conde became parents to a boy, Jamie, who is the couple's first child.

The member of the cast of A New Day (Telemundo) spoke with People en Español and told us how they have lived through the arrival of their expected offspring.

What has Jamie's birth been like?

There were many hours of tension. We already had ten hours waiting for Russel to give birth and it did not happen. They induced her labor, the contractions were very intense. In the same way, it was a lot of stress because when the baby had broken the source, he began to run out of the liquid in which he rested and became dangerous. We had to proceed with a cesarean section.

How is your wife?

The baby came out at 5:58 in the afternoon, we started the process at 8 in the morning. She is quite well and is already in recovery.

Who chose the name?

Actually I left the subject of the name to the mother, I am the freak control of the family. I left it to mom because imagine how self-centered it sounds to say that I chose my son's name and his name is James. Then [it was] she [who] decided to call him James and nickname him Jamie, which means the successor of James. We chose it that way because it was a fresh name with a good vibe.

How is your baby? Who does he look like?

He is incredibly good, he is very handsome, he is very cute. It came out pretty white, pinkish and very calm. He did not cry for the first 20 minutes that he came out of the mother's womb and then began to cry. It sure goes out to mom.

Who decided the decoration of the room?

We wanted from the beginning to start from the safari theme because of the meaning of animals and to be able to instill that in the baby, the strength of the lion, the intelligence of the elephant. We paint the room like a jungle and where the cradle is is like a cabin in the middle of that jungle where he takes care of his animals. Jamie inherited the cradle of [ Adamari López's] daughter Alaïa, which makes it even more meaningful. It is not the same to buy it in a store to come from someone to whom we are very fond.
