Jesse and Joy walk from city to city promoting their new single "Tanto" with Luis Fonsi. During their stay in New York, the Mexicans visited the offices of People en Español and told us a little more about this new song, the most difficult moments of their career and Noah, the new member of their family who has them crazy with happiness.

How do they close this 2019?

Joy: 2019 leaves me with a wonderful baby. The family grew. It is from my favorite years. We finish the album. She is incredible, it shows that she is going to be a very determined person. I see her start to get frustrated and she says Mom and Ramón [our cat's name] were her first words.

Jesse: Next year we will have another son who is our album, we will have a new tour. We are 15 years old. We end the year with health and many projects.

How did the idea of working with Luis Fonsi come about?

Jesse: "So much", the song was already ready, it was already finished. For a long time we already had a job flirtation with Fonsi and everything was happening “Despacito” and we loved that he liked the song. It has come a long way for that human quality.

Joy: We have several friends in common and they told us that the day we worked with him we were going to get along very well. Jesse and I have a good vibe with everyone. Whenever we saw it there was a good vibe. I can tell you that Luis is a nice person inside. She is one of the people with one of the strongest singles of the last decade, she is a person who has transcended and has opened paths for many.

"So much"…

Joy: It's what you want your heart to say when you lack words, when you feel butterflies in your stomach and you don't know how to put an adjective on it. It is what is meant when you love someone.

The most difficult thing in his career has been …

Jesse: It's just that we spend a lot of time outside the house. But also the death of our father. Now we are thanking God for the new ones that have arrived. Some go and others come.

Joy: For more successes and errors, we are the result of each one of them. I look back on our career and we would not do anything different, although it would make me want to perhaps change those little letters in the contracts, those clauses, but in the end, we learned. However, the most difficult thing was the loss of one of our loved ones, the ones you love are the ones who make a difference in your life.

When they are not working, what do they enjoy the most?

Jesse: We love being with our family, it depends on when we are. I have been making a tradition with my family, if I have a long tour, they have a dynamic at home, so normally we all go to another house and we are on the same channel. [Thus] we return home more synchronized. That helps me a lot, I love basketball which is my second love.

Joy: My wife and I really enjoy watching movies, [but] they don't let me anymore. (laughs) When I'm free I try to help him with some things around the house. Also when I have free time I start exercising that helps my mind.

They are those minutes that you have an hour and oxygenates the brain. When I exercise is when I get more ideas from everything, I send eighty emails. It is when I concentrate the most.
