The Kings of Spain flew to Cuba today on a historic trip: the first official trip by a Spanish monarch to the island. Felipe and Letizia will be on Havana on the 12th and 13th where you will have different encounters with different personalities, while on the fourteenth they will arrive in the city of Santiago, founded in 1515 by the Spanish conqueror Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar.
This is believed to be the first time that Felipe has set foot in Cuba, while there is evidence that Letizia was there with friends during her student days.
The Kings were fired with all honors at the Madrid airport before boarding the plane that takes them across the ocean. While in Spain the winter cold and the first snows prevail, in Cuba the temperature will force the Kings to dress again in summer and there is a tremendous expectation to see once again the styles of Doña Letizia.
For her long flight today, the Queen arrived at the airport dressed in total black, with very tight pants, a thin turtleneck sweater and shoes with vertigo heels. The flattering white and black houndstooth blazer of the Uterqüe brand stood out.
Although Felipe's parents, Juan Carlos I and Doña Sofía visited Havana in 1999, the trip was not official. That is why this trip will make history.
