Fashion designer Emmanuel Ungaro passed away this Saturday in Paris at the age of 86. His death was officially announced this Sunday on the official Instagram account of what was his company. They did not give details of the cause of his death.

"The fashion house that he founded in 1965 and which still bears his name is crying today to this extremely talented couturier," says the message the brand posted on their account along with a photo of the artist. "He will remain in our memory as the master of sensuality, colors and extravagance."

Ungaro started in the fashion world thanks to his father, who was a tailor and was his first teacher. However, it was when he moved to Paris that he met the also designer Cristóbal Balenciaga, who formed him.

It was in 1965 when he founded his fashion house with which he established himself as one of the most prestigious designers of his time and favorite of some of the most important personalities such as Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, Whitney Houston, Sarah Jessica Parker and Bianca Jagger. Ungaro was known for his striking designs, very feminine and full of color, but above all very sensual.

He retired in 2005 after selling his fashion house to businessman Asim Abdullah, who to this day has maintained the artist's name and aesthetic.

Ungaro, who leaves behind his wife and daughter, also collaborated with Ferragamo and Bulgari. Rest in peace!
