Ever since her dad became president, Ivanka Trump has been in the public eye and her clothing and accessories company too. The company, founded in 2007, underwent many changes from the moment Ivanka moved to Washington and became an adviser to the President. First her brand sold like hot cakes for several months and then stores like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus decided to stop selling their items. Then a rumor emerged that the company was struggling with low sales. Now finally the businesswoman made the drastic decision to close it.

Representatives of the company confirmed to Instyle magazine, assuring that the decision was not made due to the popularity or quality of the brand, but rather due to restrictions that Ivanka herself was putting even after leaving her the position of president last year.

"We are incredibly proud of the brand we create and the products we develop for our customers," said Abigail Klem, president of the company. “I know this was a very difficult decision for Ivanka and I am very grateful for the opportunity to have been able to lead such a talented and committed team. When faced with adverse circumstances, the team showed strength and optimism."

For her part, Ivanka also sent a statement about her position in the face of this sudden decision.

"I don't know when or if I will even return to business," explained the businesswoman. "But what I know is that my focus for the immediate future is to continue doing my job here in Washington, so making this decision now is in my best interest for my team and my partners."
