Antonio Banderas is once again supporting Miami Fashion Week. The Spanish actor and designer is enjoying the fashion shows and events of this Fashion Week in the City of the Sun, where he has spent a few days with his girlfriend Nicole Kimpel. "Feeling that Caribbean air cures me of any disease. It is a city that I love. I love to feel the Caribbean and listen to Spanish everywhere,”he confesses. "Now that there are some who are trying to fight Spanish in this wonderful nation, we must tell them that they have lost the war even before it began."

The renowned artist spoke to People en Español about his collection of men's clothing and accessories. This includes pieces that he himself uses as leather jackets and classic white shirts, among others. "Right now what I have in mind only works for men, the world of women is more complicated." Would you dare to create a collection of women's clothing? “I dare yes, I dare everything. I know the type of woman I like and how I would like to dress her, but it's still too early for women's collections. You have to think about them a lot.”

According to him, designing for men is easier than pleasing women. “Men are much more boring. Look at the red carpets: we men wear black and white uniforms”, he adds. That is very difficult to break because men feel very comfortable and we are very cowardly. We bought the black suit with a popcorn and the white shirt and it's over,”he jokes. “The little details make the difference in the man, the cufflinks he wears, if the tie is narrower, longer or shorter, but if you look at women, it changes everything. Textures, colors, prints, fabrics change. You have silk, you have polyester, there are a thousand things, so women are a much more complicated world in fashion”.

On his seductive style of dress, he adds: “I would describe it as Mediterranean and I lean heavily on that Mediterranean where I was born, from the fashion of the 50s and early 60s, that world of María Callas, Jean Paul Belmondo, Federico Fellini, the Cannes festival, the San Remo festival, blue and white colors”.

Her collection of men's clothing has casual pieces and other very elegant ones. “There is a vintage space that is jeans, T-shirts and leather jackets that I can put on every day to go outside. There is a space that I would call 'cocktail', which is if you have to be at the Cannes festival and you are going to have a cocktail with a director and you wear chinos with a blazer jacket, with a little color maybe and polo shirts He comments. “Then there is the 'red carpet' or 'entertainment', and for that I really like the deep black color, I find it very elegant, the suits and the tuxedos. That would be the definition of my style, those three worlds applied to the bible of that Mediterranean of the 50s and 60s, naturally with a touch of modernity”.
