Did you know that the designer of the most desired shoes in the world is Spanish? Manolo Blahnik was born in the Canary Islands, but it was not until Diana Vreeland, the legendary director of Vogue magazine in the 1960s, came across his path that he touched her with his fashion magic wand and made him the official shoemaker of the jet set.
After decades at the top, Blahnik has just announced its new collaboration with the Spanish firm Castañer, with which it intends to turn the espadrille into a luxury accessory for which fashion victims around the world will surely die.
The capsule collection is divided into two styles, Manolo by day and Manolo by Night, and includes this model that the firm has shared on Instagram in six different colors, with jute sole and satin straps that are tied at the ankle.
The collaboration aims to highlight the passion that the shoemaker and the brand share for “craftsmanship and the desire to create timeless pieces,” as reported by the Fashion Network portal.
His latest collaborations with the fashion brand of the moment, Vetements, and with the singer Rihanna have been a complete success and now he adds to his resume this very Spanish merger with the espadrille brand that celebrates 90 years in the footwear market and that you can Get on the Castañer website starting November 13.
