Today is one of the saddest days in American history. And it is that sixteen years of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 are commemorated. Every year hundreds of people, including relatives of the victims, come to the so-called Ground Zero to remember all those who lost their lives in that place. Elsewhere in the country, victims are also honored, including the White House, where this year President Donald Trump, accompanied by his wife Melania, delivered a speech and observed a minute of silence. For the occasion, Melania chose a black brocade fabric coat with Michael Kors' A-skirt, which wore a belt. The first lady complemented her look with pointed shoes in the same color as Manolo Blahnik and her customary loose waves in her hair.
This outfit was quite in keeping with the occasion and reminded us of the looks worn by former First Lady Michelle Obama, who never disappointed us with her choices to attend solemn events like this one.
The last time she was present at this important ceremony, Michelle chose a simple and classic gray dress, surprisingly also in brocade fabric with an A skirt and a black strap that accentuated her waist. Could it be that Melania wanted to imitate the style of the beloved former first lady?
We do not know that, but what we do think is a lot of coincidence is that you have chosen precisely a garment of the same fabric and also with a belt. Now, if she tried to copy it, we did not judge her, since Michelle always looked glamorous and sophisticated, even in the days when she was the simplest.
In previous years Michelle also opted for simple and sophisticated dresses such as the black print with A skirt that she wore in 2014 and the straight cut purple that she wore in 2013.
