Kylie Jenner fashioned voluminous lips and there have been many young women who have undergone operations or injected fillers to look like her. On the other hand, however, a trend has been unleashed to reduce the lips to make them less visible.
Although this procedure is already being carried out in the United States, young people between 20 and 30 years of age in Asian countries are the ones who are doing the most of the operation, which is becoming more popular every day.
"The procedure is done by cutting the inside of the lip and pulling it inward to reduce its thickness," dermatologist Doris Day told People.
Thai dermatologist Nuttae Nuttapon said surgery performed under local anesthesia is more popular with Asians because they prefer to look more Caucasian.
"Asian men and women prefer to have more Caucasian features," explained Nuttapon. "[That's] narrower cheekbones and thinner lips."
The operation, which is performed mostly on the upper lip, costs approximately $ 10,000.
