We all know that it is not an easy task to find a concealer that, apart from covering your dark circles, hydrates the delicate skin around the eyes and does not emphasize expression lines on top of it. That is why we invited makeup artist Victor Guadarrama, who works with celebrities such as Emeraude Toubia, Ximena Navarrete and Ninel Conde, to try together with the People en Español beauty team three of the most popular concealers of the moment and give us his verdict. See below what we discover about each of these products.
Shape Tape Contour Concealer, by Tarte
VG: It is for very young girls [who do not have so many blemishes] or people with mature skin, who already have fine lines, because it is a very light concealer [and does not mark wrinkles]. However it does give you a very visible effect in terms of color.
PE: It is light and versatile, since you can use its multiple shades even to create the contour of the face. It will also give your skin a touch of luminosity.
Soft Matte Complete Concealer, by Nars
VG: I would use it to give light in the nasal bridge and in the area of the dark circles without saturating so much because, as it is in cream, it would create a line of expression that does not exist. I would use it for an evening makeup on women up to 40 years old.
PE: Offers greater coverage and is ideal if you are looking for a matte finish that does not look too heavy. We are fascinated that it contains hyaluronic acid, one of the best anti-aging ingredients.
Lock It Concealer Crème, by Kat Von D
VG: I like it because it is a liquid texture with a very good coverage. I only use it [in the area of] under the tear that goes to the cheekbone to create volume.
PE: Its coverage is infallible and lasts up to 24 hours (note, with little you will achieve the desired effect). Another plus point is that it comes in 21 shades.
