Carolina Herrera was honored for her 35-year career in an elegant ceremony held at the prestigious Lincoln Center in New York. Several celebrities who were fans of Herrera's designs, such as Emmy Rossum, Christina Ricci, Olivia Palermo and Nicky Hilton, gathered at the event.
The Lincoln Center Fashion Gala, held annually by Harper's Bazaar magazine and where Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Valentino have previously been recognized, was enlivened by the legendary singer Diana Ross, who offered a mini-concert in honor of the Venezuelan.
In this event Herrera spoke about Melania Trump and to the surprise of many assured that she would love to dress her.

The dressmaker also had the honor of dressing outgoing First Lady Michelle Obama for the 2014 White House State Dinner.
Like Venezuelan designers like Diane von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfige r they also want Melania to wear their designs. While others like Sophie Theallet, Tom Ford, and Marc Jacobs, refuse to let the new president's wife wear her pieces.
