We all want to look beautiful during these holidays, improve our look or maybe even try a new one. We sat down with the Colombian makeup artist, who in addition to being a spokesperson for Target, has worked with stars like Beyoncé and Zoe Saldaña, to recommend the best looks to wear at these Christmas parties. Take note!

What look would you recommend for Christmas Eve?

The cat eye look is ideal, and apply a red lipstick that is festive without being so dramatic since then comes the New Year and for that one must use glitter to celebrate the night.

What product is essential to achieve this look?

The eyeliner. The traditional one is the liquid. [It has to be textured] smooth and easy to handle to create that eye shape. I recommend that they be waterproof so that it does not run. On the lips it could be a red shine and if you want to transform it into matte you can use a napkin, press and remove the shine, and put a little powder to seal it. You don't always have to wear a dry or opaque lipstick [for a matte look]. Use this trick.

What should the face look like?

Put concealer only where you need it most. You can use palettes containing suntan lotion to advance the face, to brighten the profile, nose and eyes. Multipurpose pallets are ideal.

Can we step up our look for the New Year?

Any color is ideal for New Years Eve but what is important is to wear colors that have glitter and frost. You can focus a little more on the corner of the eye to bring light, so that the eye opens. One can be dancing and one wants to look fresh with colors that illuminate you.

Putting glitter on your eyes can be a bit heavy. How should shadows be applied in general?

I recommend that you use the light shade on the entire lid as a base, the medium shade only on the moving lid in the center, and the dark shade on the eye socket. Do not do more because if not, you can be scared! They have to follow the steps, that is the best advice to make them look cute and not so dramatic. On the lips, they can use gloss and if they use softer and fresher colors, it would be ideal.

What do you advise someone who is not used to putting on makeup but wants to do something different but not so risky one of those nights?

For people who are afraid of color I would go with more natural colors. You can use [up to] gold all over the eye as it has a nice shine, a good line close to the eyelashes and a soft lipstick. They will look made up but it is not so dramatic.

What do you advise someone who wears a lot of makeup and wants to do something new?

A white liner is different and daring. They can be outlined on the eyelid below the eye, in the corner. Since it is white, it is dramatic enough to feel different.
