In Carolina Herrera pastel colors and feminine silhouettes reigned supreme.

The Venezuelan designer, who was inspired by the color of spring flowers, presented her spring / summer 2016 collection at the majestic museum The Frick Collection in New York. The models in soft pastel shades paraded through its corridors, with the odd number in black and white.

The collection reigned in pink, in all its shades, as well as sets of skirts and blouses, and exquisite transparencies. To complement her delicate designs, Herrera chose suede sandals with transparent details from Manolo Blahnik.

To complement the subtlety of the collection, MAC makeup artist Diane Kendal opted for fresh makeup, allowing the radiance of the skin to shine, accentuating the eyebrows and painting the lips with a pale pink shine.

Carolina leaned toward a pale pink palette, very feminine and youthful. She wants the girls to look super cool, "explains Kendal. "Neutral colors are more flattering."

For her part, the renowned hairdresser Orlando Pita created soft waves in the models' hair to complement the angelic look that the designer sought to project.

"We are making big, smooth waves. Carolina wants something very childish and innocent. "Says Pita. “What I love is that we are making these hairstyles for prom dresses. It is not obvious. I like that contrast. Especially in the Carolina parade it will look very special because we always make more elaborate hairstyles. This time it's softer, younger and prettier.”
