Tommy Hilfiger Presented His New Collection To The Rhythm Of Reggae

A whole Caribbean party was what was experienced in the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show during the fashion week in New York.

The American designer was inspired by the Caribbean islands, especially the beauty of Jamaica, to create the designs for the Island Hopping collection, a colorful and youthful proposal for the upcoming spring season.

To show her creations, Hilfiger recreated the look of a beach and completed the atmosphere with a bar, sand and palm trees.

To the rhythm of reggae, the models wore crochet swimsuits, long dresses with lots of movement and prints of flora and fauna, inspired by the renowned textile artist Josef Frank.

In the end, the models surprised the attendees when, once the show was over, they came out again in bathing suits and walked into the water placed in the middle of the catwalk.

With the idea of highlighting the beauty of Hilfiger's models and designs, makeup artist Pat McGrath created light and fresh makeup, perfect for a beach vacation.

"We want to show chic and rocky girls, very mystical, as if they were living the last days of summer," says McGrath. “I applied suntan lotion to their cheeks and neckline. It is a makeup focused on lighting the skin. It's about creating a healthy, fresh glow.”

To complement the colorful pieces and beach makeup, the hairdresser Eugene Souleiman decided to let the models take their hair to life.

“We are trying to do as little as possible to the hair to maintain the personality of each one of them. Some of us are doing braids but the style is very simple,”says McGrath. “The hair is going to be natural, sexy, beachy, beautiful. I am not changing anyone's hair. We are just fixing it with our hands. We are not getting stressed.”
