He walks, talks, and wakes up a lot, but a lot, earlier than his parents would prefer.

The Prince George plays a añito Thursday and every step of the growth of the heir to the throne English is faithfully followed by his parents, Princess Kate and Prince William.

"As is often the case with new parents, being a part of [their growth] is exciting and a great joy," a palace source tells People in the cover story of the magazine's ninth edition. "It is wonderful to experience a baby's first year."

George, who will inherit the throne after his father William and his grandfather, Prince Charles, has enjoyed an adventurous year - such as the royal family's visit to New Zealand - sweet moments and sleepless nights.

As many parents do after their first child, William and Kate, both 32, are already planning a second.

Although the palace has not commented on the perennial pregnancy rumors, a source close to the couple has confirmed that they plan to give George a little brother shortly, but "does not say when."

The circumstances seem ideal for the attempt: William is about to start a permanent job with an air ambulance service near Anmer Hall, the couple's country home.

"[The venue] has a wonderful and family atmosphere," said a source who has visited the residence.
