The suspension of recordings of programs and fictions as a consequence of the pandemic of the new coronavirus COVID-19 that plagues more than 190 countries is forcing many television channels to modify their programming through two main channels: or by re-broadcasting some of its most successful spaces, or acquiring new material from other countries, including Turkey. And Telemundo seems to have opted for this last option.
The Spanish-speaking network will begin broadcasting on Tuesday, April 7, in the hours currently occupied by Exatlón, Cennet, a successful Turkish fiction full of romance and family drama that tells the story of overcoming a beautiful woman on a path of revenge and redemption as a result of his search for maternal love that was denied to him at birth.
The soap opera features the lead performance of Turkish actress Almila Ada as Cennet Yilmaz, while the heartthrob of the story, Selim Arisoy, is played by Berk Atan.
The fiction revolves around Cennet, a beautiful, intelligent and determined woman who was orphaned as a newborn when her mother abandoned her and her grandmother took care of her. Despite her humble upbringing and lack of financial resources, she becomes a brilliant architect and achieves her dream job at a prestigious architectural firm.
As her professional life is on the rise, Cennet's world takes an unexpected turn when life brings her face to face with her past. Cennet is unexpectedly reunited with Selim, her childhood love, and with her biological mother, who disappeared from her life many years ago and now arrive to mess up her world.
With nobility and humility, Cennet will have to fight to succeed and demonstrate to those around her that it is never too late to redeem herself in life.
The premiere of Cennet confirms the firm commitment that Spanish-language networks are making to Turkish stories, which are increasingly gaining prominence in Hispanic prime time thanks to the unexpected success that Amor eterno (Univision) has had.
