Rosario Dawson expressed her love and support for boyfriend Cory Booker after the New Jersey senator announced on Monday that he is dropping out of the presidential race. The actress, of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent, replied to the message that Booker sent out thanking his supporters and his team. “Cory, you continue to inspire me everyday. On this journey you and your remarkable team have represented the best in us and I know you will continue to,”she wrote on Twitter. "Thank you. I see you. I love you. " The politician replied to her on social media: "I love you honey, so much."

Over the course of their relationship, which began in 2018 after they met at a party for a mutual friend, they have both expressed their admiration for one another. “She challenges me every day. We're a year or so into this relationship and dating her I learn every day, she expands me,”Booker told CHICA recently. "She is so passionate, she is active on social media and everything, and I feel blessed to be in a relationship with somebody that makes me better and challenges me to be a better version of myself."

Dawson - who stars in the upcoming USA show Briarpatch - recently told PEOPLE about Booker: “I've actually felt more free in this relationship than I ever have before and it's been really, really beautiful.” She added she is grateful that her boyfriend understands she must also devote herself to her teen daughter Lola, her work projects, and caring for her dad, who is battling cancer. "It's just really balancing a lot of things and family is very, very critically important to Cory," she said. "He never made me feel bad or weird about it, as much as we'd see it strummed up in the press like, 'Why isn't she there and being on his side?' It's like, 'Because I'm not arm candy and I have a job and I have a family and my boyfriend isn't making me feel bad about it.'”

They have both been at each other's side at important moments in their careers. She joined him on the campaign trail in Nevada in July and he walked the red carpet with her at the premiere of her film Zombieland: Double Tap in October. "It's a really odd moment for both of us to be exploring love," Dawson shared with PEOPLE. “I think we've just managed it really well because we've been really conscious and thoughtful and really communicated about it. He's just one of the smartest, most present human beings I've ever met, and it's just been really beautiful.”
