Yesterday, history went down as Chris Perez shared his experiencewatching the Selena biopic for the first time since its release in 1997. Perez was married to Selena Quintanilla-Perez, the Texas-born Tejano singer whose life the film chronicles. Starring Jennifer Lopez, the biopic follows the journey of Selena, from her sold-out concert at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas to her death at 23. This movie is emotional for anyone, so we can't necessarily say we're surprised it took Chris, who was also the guitarist of Selena's band Selena y Los Dinos, so long to watch. But, we are thankful that he chose to share his reactions on his Facebook.

Famous people are just like us apparently, wine and Lifetime movies and all! The guitarist's Facebook page chronicles his journey through the movie, from “here… we… go…” to “Wow… I was HOT! LOLOL !!!!!!” We're glad Chris has a sense of humor, because sometimes it's easier to laugh than cry!

His honesty is commendable, and so is Selena's apparent love for pizza

Chris also added his own commentary to the movie, revealing some insider info to the real life of Selena. According to one of his status updates, Selena always made his nervous, because “who 'dances' next to Selena?” He even drops some dirt, saying “it was Ricky (not Joe) that busted us. (Sorry Rick… my bad).” He did agree with the fact that “he hardly talks,” saying you have to get to know him.

We're glad that both Chris and Selena's legacy will always live on. And we're also glad that we were able to get an insider's look into the fabulous life of the iconic Mexican-American artist.

Chris also said he wasn't able to watch until the end of the film, and we can't blame him. Selena's death was a tragedy, but she will be in our, and Chris's, hearts forever.
