Shakira is filled with joy after her school Fundación Pies Descalzos was named the No. 1 public school in all of Colombia. The ranking was based off a study done by The Alberto Merani foundation in which they evaluated multiple public and private schools. Data was taken from the Saber 11 test scores between the years of 2011 and 2015, reported E News.
The Colombian singer took a break from filming on set in Madrid to celebrate the news with her fans on Instagram. “Right now I'm in the middle of shooting something but I have just received amazing news, and I want to take a pause to celebrate it,” she shared. “Every year in Colombia they create a list where they choose the best public and private schools according to their Saber test results. And guess who leads the list? Pies Descalzos Foundation in Barranquilla! Sending all the students there a big kiss. I love you guys and let's aim for more.”
The Saber 11 test is done each year with the objective of helping families decide which educational institutions to send their children to. Fundación Pies Descalzos has over 1,300 students and was founded in 2009 by the chart-topping singer.
