Bella Thorne is known for not being afraid to speak her mind on social media. The Latina actress is now partnering with Burt's Bees for the #LoveYourNature campaign after she learned how to accept herself in a pressure-filled industry. Bella filled us in on the movement, powering through dyslexia as an actress, and dealing with Internet bullies.

Can you tell us about the collaboration you have with Burt's Bees?

Bella Thorne: I was super excited when I heard they were doing this #LoveYourNature campaign because it's really different when a corporation decides to put out so much good in the world and wanting people to love themselves. Sometimes you hear "don't be conceited" or "don't say 'I love this about me." You've been taught your whole life to be like "I hate this" in the mirror, "I don't like this," or "I want to get this fixed." With this brand, we're telling people-love it, love yourself, and love everything about you.

What is your biggest piece of advice for someone who isn't embracing his or her uniqueness?

BT: My advice is' who cares what anyone says?” What is in our blood and in our instinct to care about what other people think about us? We should not care. This is crazy that everything is based off of somebody else's opinion. Just start thinking that everyday. It's hard- I've recently changed my mindset and I've been trying to change it for a long time and it's finally happening. It's not going to happen overnight but it does take time and it's going to happen.

Dealing with dyslexia, how were you able to overcome the difficulties and what can you tell others who are dealing with the disorder?

BT: I was bullied so much. I had to quit school because it was so bad and I just felt terrible about it. It's crazy that people frown upon such a simple thing so much and so often. As I got older, it was so hard for me to get into acting. Even now, I'll read in front of people and I just get to tears. I just can't help it. It brings back bad memories and it makes me anxious- I'll start sweating, I'll start crying. I'm not over it. A lot of people will say, “you'll overcome it,” but not really because it's always going to be a part of who I am… it really makes me me. I'm happy to be like, “I'm dyslexic and I don't care what any of you guys think, I literally don't give a sh-t. I can't read that well and I'm going to get over it. There isn't anything you could say that could stop me.

What is one thing you love about yourself that makes you unique?

BT: I would say its my crazy weird-ness. I'm very weird. I used to think, “Oh no, I can't do this, I need to be perfect. I have to be pretty, funny and well liked.” I just needed to stop living that life and it was hard to come to terms with. One day, I looked in the mirror and I didn't like what I saw. I had no idea who I was because I was so many different people just to please everyone.

How do you respond to social media bullies?

BT: I'm really snarky. I talk a lot of sh-t on Twitter. What really gets to me is women bashing on other women. I pride myself in being one but when I see this kind of sh-t, I just can't help but get so angry. I don't know what about it really boils me to my core so then I have to reply. I may be doing a bad thing by replying and giving them more attention but at least other people are like, “Damn, what Bella is saying is true. Why am I hating on this girl?”

Everyone is welcomed to get involved in the movement with Bella by sharing what they love and embrace about their own nature using the hashtag #LoveYourNature on social media. Learn more about the campign at burtsbees.com.
