Things heated up between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber but not in the way Jelena fans wish it did.
The Hands To Myself singer called out her ex, Bieber, on Instagram after he warned his fans that he would make his account private if they continued to attack his new “friend,” Sofia Richie.
“I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like,” posted Bieber.
Richie, 17, has received serious shade from Beliebers after the singer posted six selfies with her on his Instagram.
Gomez reportedly threw in her two cents and commented on Bieber's post. “If you can't handle the hate, then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol- It should be special between you two only,” she wrote. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before any one ever did.”
Bieber's fans immediately sided with Selena for defending them and the war began between the two exes.
“It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way,” responded the Sorry singer. Sad. All love.”
According to People, I have later added the comment, “I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u can all be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers.”
Then things got intense. Gomez decided to shoot back, “Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love.”
"I cheated … Oh I forgot about you and Zayn?" Bieber reportedly replied.
Selena finished the never-ending battle by posting a collage of photos with her fans that seemed to throw shade at her ex-boyfriend.
The beef between the pair lead to fans creating the hashtag #SelenaEndedJustinParty, which quickly became a trending topic on social media and caused some dramatic- yet LOL-posts.
