A California teenager presumably passed away from coronavirus after treatment was denied because of uninsured health. At least, that assures the mayor of Lancaster, Rex Parris.

In a video that the mayor posted on YouTube, he assured that the boy, whose name is unknown, was not admitted to a local emergency room when he arrived ill without any known prior condition. “Before he died on Friday, he was a healthy boy. I was living with friends, "says Perris in his video. "On Wednesday he was dead."

On Wednesday, the emergency center finally agreed to send him to a hospital, but he died on his way to it, says the mayor: "When it arrived, it was too late."

He also explains in the video that once respiratory problems begin, if you are short of breath and have a fever, you cannot delay medical help for a minute.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health first confirmed that the young man had died of coronavirus, but later retracted it. An investigation into the case is now underway.

In the United States , the country with the most coronavirus sufferers in the world, more than 21,000 new cases emerged today and reached 500 deaths in 24 hours. In New York alone, there are more than 52,000 infected and more than 700 deaths. At the moment, the two countries most affected in terms of mortality have been Italy, with more than 10,000 deaths and Spain, with almost 6,000.
