The Rock Mourns The Death Of His Father

Rocky Johnson, professional wrestler and father of actor Dwayne The Rock Johnson passed away Wednesday at age 75, reported World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

According to The Guardian newspaper, Johnson had recently fallen ill with what appeared to be a common cold.

He felt bad, he thought he had the flu or something. I said, 'You need Rocky to look at you.' He said it would be fine. Then it was lost this Sunday, a few days ago. When I spoke to him again, he said he still didn't feel well,”said WWE star and ex-wrestler Brian Blair.

The cause of death for Johnson, known in his times in the ring as Soul Man, has yet to be revealed.

The Rock has yet to release a statement about the loss of his father. However, his millions of followers on social networks have not stopped sending his condolences since the sad news was learned.

"I am very sorry for your father", "My condolences for you and your family", "Peace to his soul", are some of the messages shared by fans on the actor's Instagram account.

Rocky Johnson became a wrestling figure primarily after joining Tony Atlas to form The Soul Patrol. Together they became the first African Americans to clinch the tag team championship when they defeated The Wild Samoans on December 10, 1983.

Outside of wrestling, Rocky was a leading activist for racial equality particularly during the height of his career in the 1980s.
