After almost two decades at the helm of the successful television program Caso Cerrado (Telemundo), Dr. Ana María Polo surprised everyone by recently announcing that next year she is leaving television to pursue new professional goals, including film.
"This is my last year on television," said the 60-year-old lawyer in an interview with The Associated Press. "I want to do things that amuse me, that stimulate me, that take me out of the routine a little and that give me an opportunity so that I can be creative in other aspects as well."
The announcement made by the also singer sowed in many the question of what will happen with Case closed now that Ana María declared that she no longer wants to continue making open television.
With the aim of shedding a little light on this matter, People en Español contacted Telemundo, the network that has been broadcasting the successful television program since 2001, and this was the brief official statement they sent us in which, without being Too clear, they confirm that the space will continue to be part of their programming.
"Caso Cerrado continues to be part of the programming of the Telemundo network and will continue to be broadcast as part of its programming, including editions that are broadcast in more than 21 countries through Latin America," reads the aforementioned statement.
Although Telemundo does not specify whether or not there will be a new edition of Case Closed in 2020, according to the newspaper La Opinion, which cites the chain itself as a source, the program will continue to be part of Telemundo's programming for the next year, for what everything seems to indicate that there will be Case Closed for a while.
