Baseball player Blake Bivens' wife, baby and mother-in-law were killed. The suspect in the triple murder is Matthew Bernard, 18, the baseball player's brother-in-law. The young man was arrested after running naked trying to flee the police. The family was killed Tuesday at their home in Keeling, Virginia. Emily Bivens, her 1-year-old son Cullen and her mother were found dead after a neighbor called the police and reported that he had seen the body of a woman at the driveway of the home around 8 a.m., according to reports.

Police advised area residents that Bernard was "very dangerous" and armed, according to a message shared on Facebook. The young man had escaped through wooded terrain in the area and several schools had to be closed until Bernard was found - completely naked - near a church.

According to the Chatham Star Tribune newspaper, the young man faces three charges of first-degree murder for the deaths of his sister, his nephew and his mother. The motive for the killings has yet to be reported.

Bivens, 24, is a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays organization who played for the Montgomery Biscuits affiliate team in Alabama. Both teams have offered their condolences and messages of support to the player after the tragedy and ask that the privacy of the family be respected.

The athlete and his wife were married in 2016 and their son Cullen was born in June 2018, reports PEOPLE. His wife described herself on her Facebook page as "a faithful follower of Jesus, wife, mother, and photographer." May they rest in peace.
