Former baseball player Josh Hamilton- who played for the Texas Rangers team - was charged with verbally beating and assaulting his 14-year-old daughter. The teenager accused him of hitting her and the 38-year-old athlete faces charges of injuring the minor. Hamilton is free after paying a bail bond that she made. According to an affidavit obtained by a Keller Police Department detective, Hamilton's daughter assured authorities that he had been furious at something she had said and had thrown a bottle of water at her, hit her in the chest. and he had been verbally abusive, yelling at her and swearing at her. The teenager added that her father had thrown the chair where she was resting her feet and had broken it. According to her, her father forced her from the chair and she fell to the floor; then he raised it,He carried her over his shoulder and carried his daughter to her room.

Although the teenager claims that she apologized to her father, he threw her on her bed, putting her daughter's face against the mattress and began to hit her on the legs with his hand and with a closed fist. The case is being investigated. If Hamilton is found guilty, he could spend 2 to 10 years in prison.
