Lorenzo Méndez these days not only premieres his new solo single, “Sincerely Your Husband”, dedicated to his wife Chiquis Rivera, but the singer also participates fully in the new season of the reality show The Riveras, which will premiere next 11 August on NBC Universe. In this interview, the artist told People en Español what we can expect.

What can we see in the new season of The Riveras?

You can see a lot of what our wedding was and all the plans we had. It is a very different season, each one has their projects and their lives.

Has it been difficult for you to expose your life?

As a singer you always try to hide that you are [a public figure], but now it's quite different. This has served me as therapy [to] show things as they are. And at the end of the day you realize that there are many people who are going through the same things as you. It is a real show. We have our problems. And I want to be an example, that people know that we are not perfect.

What was the most difficult part of participating in the show?

The most difficult thing for me to do the reality was the wedding. We wanted to do the private wedding and it was the opposite, with helicopters, drones, and it was something that opened my eyes because I am a public figure. They will be able to see everything that happened before and after in real time. Ever since my sponsor came from New York and I found out that the invitation had been leaked. There are also issues with my ex in court that we are going through. You are going to see my version of how this has affected me.

Has the Rivera family received you well?

She has accepted me very well and they have always loved me. I accept each one of them for the qualities they have, and how we deal with each other is very beautiful.
