Shakira Shares Controversial Message After The Death Of Her Former Father-in-law

Shakira shared an emotional message to her 11-year-old father-in-law, former Argentine President Fernando de la Rúa, who died Tuesday at the age of 81.

“Dear Fernando, You are gone forever, friend. Your children, your wife Inés, your grandchildren, your friends and I will remember you with great and deep affection for your humility and the tender depth of your soul that those of us who loved you well knew, wrote the Colombian in a message she published in your Instagram account.

The dedication of the interpreter of "Eyes like this" caused controversy among her followers for the use of her words, in addition to her link with the Argentine politician.

De la Rua was in charge of some of Shakira's businesses, including the Scents & Senses Company, in charge of distributing the fragrances, S by Shakira and Elixir, which the Barranquilla interpreter launched in 2008.

The counseling ties by De la Rúa to the company were hired by a different company, which led to the dismissal of De la Rúa.

Despite the differences in the workplace, Gerard Piqué's girlfriend made it clear that she always admired her ex's father, Antonio de la Rúa.

"You have made so many struggles, many of them undeserved, and the one for your life you have delivered as always, with the dignity and strength that I admired so much," he added. "Now rest and fly to a better place where there are no betrayals or disappointments, you go looking for tranquility and refuge in your parents, your brother and all those who have also loved you and truly known."
